Thousands of people apply for Canadian citizenship every year. But, Canada has citizenship eligibility criteria. An applicant must have to follow the requirements to become a permanent citizen.
So, Who Can Apply For The Canadian Citizenship?
1) A person has to become a permanent resident of Canada.

What Is A Citizenship Test?
A citizenship test is a 30-minute long, and it consists of 20 questions. These questions are in multiple-choice form. A person has to give at least 15 correct answers to pass the written test.
If you pass the test, you have to appear for the oral test. Though. not all applicants have to appear for the oral test.
What Kind Of Questions Will Be There On The Written Test?
There will be 20 questions. But, these questions won’t come from the same subject or topic. These questions will be based on different types of topics. Usually, you have to know Canadian – history, politics, social history, economy, laws, geography, government, and symbols of Canada.
The test will have multiple choice questions and true/false type questions. You can give the exam in English or French.
How To Prepare Yourself To Pass The Written Test?
The Canadian government has an official guide (free) to help you to study. It’s called – Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship.
The guide has many formats. You can download it as an e-book, and you can also read it online. The guide has an MP3 version too. Moreover, you can order a hard copy of the guide.
Now, the written exam’s questions will be based on the official guide. But, you can try online citizenship exam practice tests. You can follow citizenship practice test questions and answers. These practice tests can give you a good idea of the actual test. As a result, it would be easier for you to pass the written test.
What Should You Do If You Fail to Pass The Test?
If you fail twice, you have to attend a hearing. The hearing will be with a citizenship official. The hearing may continue for 9o minutes (maximum). You have to pass the test within three attempts. If you couldn’t pass the test, you have to apply again.
