Thousands of people apply for Canadian citizenship every year. But, Canada has citizenship eligibility criteria. An applicant must have to follow the requirements to become a permanent citizen.
So, Who Can Apply For The Canadian Citizenship?
1) A person has to become a permanent resident of Canada.
2) The person must have submitted taxes to the Canadian government. However, the person may not come under any taxable criteria. In that case, the person may also apply without filing any taxes.
3) The person must have lived in Canada for three years. The person has to be physically present in Canada for three years (out of the last five years).

What Is A Citizenship Test?
A citizenship test is a 30-minute long, and it consists of 20 questions. These questions are in multiple-choice form. A person has to give at least 15 correct answers to pass the written test.
If you pass the test, you have to appear for the oral test. Though. not all applicants have to appear for the oral test.

What Should You Do If You Fail to Pass The Test?
If you fail twice, you have to attend a hearing. The hearing will be with a citizenship official. The hearing may continue for 9o minutes (maximum). You have to pass the test within three attempts. If you couldn’t pass the test, you have to apply again.
